Donbass, Russia, Europe and the USA.

US Secretary of State James Baker's famous "not an inch to the east" assurance about NATO expansion during his meeting with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev on February 9, 1990, was part of a series of assurances about Soviet security given by Western leaders to Gorbachev and other Soviet officials during the process of German unification in 1990 and continuing into 1991, according to released US, Soviet, German, British and French documents published today by the National Security Archive at George Washington University (http://nsarchive.gwu.edu).

If you follow my blogs you can always read that I write about information. That is also the case this time. Today, I am talking about the phenomenon of 'information warfare' and linking it to a law of physics that demonstrates that an information deficit (which includes false information) by definition causes 'entropy' or disorder. Nature offers us a limited, controllable reality within natural boundaries of functionality that are subject to physical laws. Within these limits life can be kept in balance, but outside of these limits imbalance, or entropy, arises. So I conclude that the current Ukraine conflict is not caused by war, but by this information deficit. War is the consequence, but not the cause, because it lies much deeper and began with ignoring the agreements that Gorbachev made with the US and NATO. After East and West Germany were allowed to be united again, the Russian leader was promised by Baker that NATO would not advance an inch to the East. This was on 9 February 1990. Since then, this promise has been ignored several times and countries such as Romania, the Baltic States, Poland, Turkey have joined NATO. In this way, Russia is effectively surrounded, all the more so because Poland has installed offensive weapons aimed at Russia. When this was not enough for NATO, led by the US, in 2014 the government in Kiev was replaced by one that was agreeable to Western expansion and wanted to become a NATO member. The coup 'bought' by $5 billion by Victoria Nuland was the start of the Donbass shelling by the Ukrainian army. This was the straw that broke the camel's back. The Ukrainians started shelling the provinces of Lugansk and Donetsk because most of their population speaks Russian and is Pro-Kremlin. So the area called Donbass has been the scene of armed clashes in recent years, killing thousands of soldiers and civilians. Farmers have had their land taken away to make minefields. This trench warfare has escalated in recent weeks so Russia decided to recognise these provinces as independent states to stop the bloodshed and allow the citizens living there to move to Russia so they could find safety. In the meantime, the mainstream and social media have been abuzz with conflicting reports. It is notable that Russia is despised, but not all questions are allowed to be asked, resulting in an information deficit. According to the media, Russia is the bogeyman, but the necessary analysis of the facts of this conflict is hardly discussed. Germany's interests in relation to the Nordstream 2 pipeline, which is being built under the auspices of the former German Chancellor Schröder, who worked for Gazprom, are barely mentioned. Nor is there any mention of the imperialist aims of the US. The interests of LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) producers in the US who want to sell their overpriced gas to Europe are also not mentioned. Ever since Trump, the US has been delaying and thus preventing the exploitation of this important pipeline. Merkel had promised to buy American LNG, but Merkel is gone and current Chancellor Scholz has not yet banned its use because he knows full well that Germany cannot do without Russian gas. Dr. Daniele Ganser, a Swiss historian, does name the original causes of this conflict, as well as similar situations in Syria, Libya, Iraq, Vietnam and Cambodia, where the US committed and continues to commit genocide for their 'interests', which they force through with weapons under the guise of national security. For example, the CIA armed all opposition parties in Syria because the main objective was to remove Assad so that a US friendly President could be installed and thus gain control of the Middle East, plus access to Syrian Oil. Donbass is just about money and the power one can buy with it. But in fact, the US is bankrupt. The hegemony of the US Dollar is over because only by printing dollars can the debts that the US has accumulated be kept in balance. What the US has done is particularly stupid, because their dependence on the value of the dollar is now in the hands of Russia and that country is supported by China. Together, they could abandon the dollar at any time, which would mean that the US would no longer be able to meet its obligations and would thus fall into a failed state.  So it is now up to us to keep asking all the questions. In war there are never winners, only losers. Our human aim should be not to harm our fellow man, whoever he may be. Politicians and their accomplices do not give a damn about us and destroy everyone's life for their own gain. Thomas Paine wrote in 1776 that 'governments are wicked' and, if you look around you, that is a fact. I certainly do not condone Putin's use of weaponry, but in this case, he may well be right because NATO would no longer have a reason to exist if it did not have to keep settling enforced wars.
