Can we survive in a 1.5 meter society?
I've been in about 100 countries in my life, most of them to work. I have worked in war zones like Angola in the 80's where there was a war being fought about communism, diamonds and oil. Ivory Coast where civil war broke out when I was there and Iran where the 1st Gulf War had broken out between Iraq and ancient Persia. A tanker I worked on had just taken her cargo of crude oil on the Iranian island of Kharg, when a French made Exocet rocket hit us at starboard and we had to leave the burning ship in the lifeboats. Yet this was not as bad as what I later experienced in the streets of Bucharest and Constanza in Romania during the last years of dictator Ceausescu. What I felt there was much worse than danger, it was fear and distrust. Fear of the unknown is, according to a researcher, the most powerful motivator of our conscious and subconscious mind.
